District heating supply is being realized by the Supply station 145.0 and by connecting to the existing district heating distribution network of Munich Airport at two connection points (double feeding).
District heating transmission station for Terminal 2 / planning with direct connection with security equipment according to DIN 4747
|
Within Terminal 2 distribution of district heating is realized primarily in level 02. District heating is being distributed to the house substations by 16 transfer stations employing direct connections with a pressure difference of 500 mbar.
In order to supply PCA systems at 24 aircraft stand by positions in the future ductwork has been provisioned.
The airport's heating circuit water network is being operated throughout the year with outdoor temperature dependantly controlled supply line temperatures of 70°C to 130°C. Nominal temperature spread is at 80K.
In order to provide the luggage sorting facility (GSH) with district heating a supply line with nominal width of DN 200 forks from the distribution of the Terminal 2 main building, being directed in the Ramp 3 apron tunnel towards east.
Distribution of district heating within the luggage sorting facility is being realized primarily in level 02. According to the distrcit heating distribution concept of Terminal 2, heat distribution to the house substations is being carried out via seven transmission stations.
In parallel to Terminal 2 ductwork is being provisioned for supplying PCA systems at 25 aircraft stand by positions at some later instance.
District cooling supply of Terminal 2 and GSH is being realized up to a maximum power of 13,5 MW or 860 tons/hour respectively by the extended supply station 145.0.
In the MAX section the connection to the existing district cooling network is being realized in a nominal width of DN 400. In order to enlarge the transport capacity the district cooling pipe in the section of the central building is being reinforced by a load balancing pipe of DN 250.

Distribution of district cooling within Terminal 2 is being realized primarily in level 02. District cooling is being distributed by 16 transfer stations towards the house substations as direct connections PN 10/16 with a pressure difference of 1.000 mbar.
The district cooling network is being operated in summer with a supply line temperature of 5,5°C and a nominal spread of 13,5 K.
The circulating cooling water is being cooled down with free cooling at the supply station 145.0 thorughout the cold seasons. The supply line water temperature is being raised up to appx. 11°C accordingly.
A supply line for the luggage sorting facility in nominal width DN 300 forks from the district cooling distribution of the Terminal 2 main building towards the east.
District cooling coupling distributor in the GSH, level 02 for load balancing / Combined operation of supply station 145.0 and sub station east, floor plan

District cooling coupling distributor in the GSH, level 02 for load balancing / Combined operation of supply station 145.0 and sub station east, elevation
|
District cooling originating from Terminal 2 is being connected to a coupling distributor at the luggage sorting facility.
In load cases that cannot be satisfied by the Supply station 145.0 a yet to be planned district cooling sub station east injects cooling water to the forementioned coupling distributor which acts as load balancer.
From this coupling distributor district cooling is being distributed to seven sub stations in the area of the GSH.

In the course of the airport's extenstion with Terminal 2 and luggage sorting facility the following supply areas with heat consumer installations are being connected to the district heating network:
Supply line: | 130°C | GSH at total | 17,6 MW | 202,0 tons/hour |
Return line: | 50°C | Terminal 2 at total | 22,8 MW | 244,8 tons/hour |
In the course of the airport's extenstion with Terminal 2 and luggage sorting facility the following supply areas with cooling consumer installations are being connected to the district cooling network:
Supply line: | 5°C |
Return line: | 17,2°C |
Return line GSH: | 18°C |
